Always Active – helping older people and their carers in your local area
About Always Active
Our adult day care centres are currently located throughout Cheshire. We provide a welcoming, comfortable and safe environment for people with Alzheimer’s or other conditions associated with being older. This service is part of a range of services we provide to support those who stay at home but welcome a chance to meet others and enjoy varied daily activities. Many people, who live alone or with their families, attend the day centre regularly, to enjoy the wide range of activities we facilitate. We provide an opportunity for you or your loved one to enjoy a range of activities and have quality social and leisure time with other people. The day centre provides a lunch and snacks, with hot and cold refreshments, served throughout the day. All staff are qualified and DBS screened

I am currently a Domiciliary Carer for an elderly couple, one of which has Dementia. This has provided me with an insight into the social isolation that the older generation can experience and, with this in mind, when the Coordinator role was developed by Always Active I knew immediately it was a challenge I would relish in order to alleviate some of the distress felt by socially isolated older people and also allow me to continue my role as a Domiciliary Carer.
I have worked for the Stroke Association for many years and have a passion for helping people who have suffered a stroke. I have also been a Matron, working for the Corporation of London, caring for elderly people with a variety of health complaints and disabilities.
