Always Active – helping older people and their carers in your local area
About Always Active
Our adult day care centres are currently located throughout Cheshire. We provide a welcoming, comfortable and safe environment for people with Alzheimer’s or other conditions associated with being older. This service is part of a range of services we provide to support those who stay at home but welcome a chance to meet others and enjoy varied daily activities. Many people, who live alone or with their families, attend the day centre regularly, to enjoy the wide range of activities we facilitate. We provide an opportunity for you or your loved one to enjoy a range of activities and have quality social and leisure time with other people. The day centre provides a lunch and snacks, with hot and cold refreshments, served throughout the day.

Co-ordinator & Activities Organiser
Arts & Crafts
I am currently a Domiciliary Carer for an elderly couple, one of which has Dementia. This has provided me with an insight into the social isolation that the older generation can experience and, with this in mind, when the Coordinator role was developed by Always Active I knew immediately it was a challenge I would relish in order to alleviate some of the distress felt by socially isolated older people and also allow me to continue my role as a Domiciliary Carer.
I have worked for the Stroke Association for many years and have a passion for helping people who have suffered a stroke. I have also been a Matron, working for the Corporation of London, caring for elderly people with a variety of health complaints and disabilities.
Baking Activities Organiser
I love baking – almost as much as I love eating cake. During my University days I worked with older members of the community as a carer in a residential home and absolutely loved it. The wealth of experience and knowledge they have fascinates me. I am very excited to get started baking at the Day Centre and getting to know the amazing people who will attend.
Fitness & Physical Therapist
I have been working within the health and fitness industry for 15 years. For the past 6 years I have been a development officer for a GP referral scheme working alongside Doctors, Nurses, Physiotherapists and other specialists to help patients improve their health, become fitter, stronger, more mobile and improve their quality of life. As well as having worked with patients with a wide range of medical conditions I’m also a specialist in Cardiac Rehab, Back Rehabilitation and Core and Stability Training.
Beauty Therapist and Reflexologist
I have been a qualified beauty therapist for many years and have owned my own salon. I have always enjoyed working with an older clientele, the opportunity to work as part of the Always Active team was very welcome. I am able to offer all aspects of beauty therapy as well as Reflexology and Massage to the clients who attend the day centres. I am also going to run activities; fun whilst we indulge in a little pampering.
